Is there an actual SEO timeframe to judge your SEO results by? Ah, that’s the age old question. The 1st rule of SEO is that you have to look at it as a game. It’s a marketing game that may take a long time to win. You have to be dedicated to this game. The sooner you start the game, the farther behind you will leave your competition.
No company can give you an SEO timeframe as to when certain keyword will be highly ranked. If an SEO company tells you that they can guarantee this in a certain timeframe …leave immediately and take the reception mints on the way out. Call up another SEO company and continue your search. The fact of the matter is that SEO companies don’t own the formula behind search engine rankings. They apply up to date, ethical SEO techniques that allow clients to take advantage of what these search engines are really looking for- good keyword phrases and excellent content on the site.
As an example, let’s take a client who has a brand new website and they are trying to compete in one of the most competitive areas of SEO, the answer for “how long” might be 1-2 years before they are truly listed on page 1 for many of their keyword phrases.
Now, for sites trying to compete against local keywords, with a very unique or service, there’s a good chance that you will see rankings movement very quickly. “Very quickly” depends upon factors such as domain age, links, quantity and quality of content. Websites that are intent on being “showy” with little content have very little chance ranking well. They might be included in search engines – just not on the all-important page 1. Likewise, websites that have their site built in “iframes” stand no chance of moving up in the ranks very high. These frames create barriers that make it difficult for search engines to penetrate and index your site.
What about companies that have had a Web site for many years, but haven’t heard about SEO? Assuming these sites have good content and a number of one-way and reciprocal links to their Web site , they would only need some help structuring things correctly so that they can take full advantage of what search engine optimization has to offer them. Even then, without knowing the competitive data of the competiton’s website and the other sites in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Page), it’s very, very difficult to pin down a time frame that results will occur. Your best bet is to make sure that your SEO partner is reliable, trustworthy, and lays out the worst and best case scenario. It’s an important decison…it’s your decision. Remember that there are only (10 top positons) and many businesses are fighting for a spot in there. Stay with it and make sure that you and your SEO company are communicating. You’ll make it to the top sooner than you think!
