New website…new message

Forgive the vanity blog post for our new site, but this is something that I want everyone to know.

Currently, standard advertising (yellow pages, magazines, newspapers, and any “static” publication) is down 22% from where it was this time last year.  Businesses who want to remain relevant are putting more and more of their money into SEO or some type of marketing that will provide a definitive ROI.  As you know from our other posts, SEO will not give you immediate results. SEO will position you to compete with the big name competitors out there.  How do you think we are positioned where we are?

Our new message to you:  LEAVE YOUR MARK!  This message is so important to a successful business, that we have actually included it in our new logo http://www.tracemedia.com   Just like a fingerprint, your business is unique.  No two business are exactly alike.  How are you going to get your potential customers to realize this?  You have to have a presence?…you have to “LEAVE YOUR MARK” on the internet.  With SEO, your business will continue building links, one-way/two-way connections, “organic” networks within networks (video uploading, press release submittal, directory suibmittals, social networking site submittals)-  these and our other techniques will have you LEAVING YOUR MARK on the world.

Call us now to see how you can LEAVE YOUR MARK and leave your competition behind.

PageRank Sculpting

By now, most webmasters are familiar with Google’s PageRank, or PR.  It’s an important measure of the quality of web page, whether a home page or secondary page of a website.  Relatively new to the SEO industry, however, is the idea of PageRank Sculpting.  PR Sculpting is a method of designing the link structure of a website to build up the PR of certain pages, thereby increasing the chances that those pages will rank well in search engines.

There are many methods used in PR Sculpting, but the goal is usually the same – to direct the flow of link juice to maximize the PR of important pages.   It’s an important factor in the increasingly complicated world of Search Engine Optimization.  Be sure to mention it to your SEO Provider next time you talk and discuss how it can help improve your bottom line.

SEO Rankings Won’t Come Overnight, but…

they will come!  When they do, your competitors will be pissed that they missed out.

Continuing on with a central theme here.  We want you to understand that there are certainly other options for SEO for your website. There are cheap, get ranked high alternatives that can be had out there (look for freelancers in Craigslist, local want ads, etc.)  These options/prices will look great..like a shiny new metal- but they are hazardous to your site’s health.  Remember what we said about “black hat” techniques.  I’m not saying all, but many companies or individuals out there will use these “black hat” techniques to boost rankings quickly.  Your best bet is to find “ethical” SEO companies out there.

Our process at Tracemedia is a combination of research, optimize, trial and error, formulaic techniques, and above all else- the creation of effective linking campaigns for your site. This is the “glue” that holds your rankings together.  The best thing about this “glue” is that once it is put in place, you just have to add “glue” to hold your place in the internet.  Our whole process takes about 6-12 months to complete.  It seems like a long time, but if you want your business to succeed and beat out the competition, it’s the road to take.

Ethical SEO vs. Short-Term Ranking Results

I’m sure by now, you’ve heard of companies that are offering to get businesses on page 1 in a few weeks time.  Well, it’s easy to accomplish this, but the question is if this is ethical and will it last?  The answer to both of these questions is “NO”.

Ethical SEO involves the use of techniques that are on-going throughout a campaign.  This optimization work needs to be broken up into monthly changes, link creation, and submissions.  If an SEO company does too much, too soon- then rankings may skyrocket for a short while, but the end result (within as litle as a month) could be search engine “banning” or getting put on the “blacklist” for all search engines out there.

Knowing that you are working with an SEO company that practices “ethical SEO”, assures you that the high rankings your site receives are true and will be long lasting results-   If you have any more questions about the difference between “ethical” and “unethical” SEO, then give us a call.  We look forward to talking to you.
